When Sarah gave birth to her baby boy, Luc, she thought it would be the happiest moment of her life. After months of a stressful pregnancy, finally holding her son filled her with love and hope. She looked forward to Tom, her husband, arriving to take them home as a family.
But when the time came, Tom didn’t show up. Her calls went unanswered. Hours later, he casually texted that he was at the mall — caught up in a shoe sale — and would be an hour late.
Sarah sat in disbelief. A nurse, noticing her tears, gently offered to drive her and the baby home. When she arrived, Tom was lounging on the couch, proudly showing off his new sneakers.
When Sarah asked how he could miss such an important moment, his response stunned her: “You could’ve just taken an Uber.”
